Transform your bathroom into a serene oasis with these expert decluttering tips.

Want to clear your bathroom counter? My tips include containing all necessary items on a tray, adding decorative items and putting everything for skincare and dental care in a plastic bin. Containing everything in one spot saves time and cuts down on mental annoyance.

My preferred approach is to place all the necessary countertop items in a bin or on a tray. Both will work for containing, pick your preference or the option which looks best or is at the best price point for you. At my home, I keep hand soap, an essential oil diffuser, room spray, tissues and a little faux plant in a white bin (link) on my bathroom counter. The aim is to keep everything you need in one place while leaving the rest of the counter uncluttered.

If you have the space, I also recommend putting some ornamental items on the counter to make it more inviting. I have a framed photo of myself and my nieces while I was pregnant, a snapshot from my baby shower, and a framed shopping bag with my name on it from an Italian bookstore. These beautiful objects give my bathroom a personal touch and make me happy. If you have a smaller bathroom counter, consider adding only a small framed photo or framed piece of writing to inspire you. If you simply don’t have the room, just put the necessary items in the bin or basket and call it done.

Another favorite strategy of mine isa keeping everyday skincare and dental care stashed in a plastic bin out of sight. I like using the weaved basket (link) from Target because it’s super sturdy and easy to clean. I keep my toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, copper tongue scraper, makeup-removing wipes, hyaluronic acid, moisturizer, sunscreen, probiotics, and a retainer in my basket. When I wake up in the morning and before I go to bed, I put the bin on the counter and as I use things, I just put them back in the bin. When I’m finished, I put the bin back under the sink. This way, I don’t have to make repeated trips or keep everything on the counter.

Because you’re doing the same thing repeatedly, this technique is simple to develop as a habit. It saves time and mental energy because you don’t have to worry about knocking things over when attempting to grab anything. You also don’t have to keep everything on the counter, making it appear cleaner and less cluttered.

This has become one of my favorite ways to keep my bathroom counter clean and organized for years. I’ve even started using a makeshift version when I travel, putting everything in a drawer or a small bin so I can keep the habit going. It’s so helpful and saves time.
